Customers visiting the Shell Petrol Station opposite the Coppid Beech hotel last Tuesday were in for an unexpected treat. After several months of construction / conversion / constriction and confusion, (you may have noticed) all was ready to go!
The official “Cutting of Ribbon” and “Tree Planting” in memory of the day.
This was Lightfoots Filling Station back in the day, when it opened on July 5th 1997. Not much changed over the next 20 years, but new plans were drawn up and in February this year work started to more than double its size.
In honour of the re-opening and our new relationship with Budgens, Shell had sent a Ferrari Formula 1 car and a racing Ducati Panigale to mark the day. It was an opportunity for close inspection and a lot of selfies.
Budgens provided a continuous supply of hot finger food and gave away goody bags filled with their own brands. Vouchers were for the taking to encourage a second visit.
Even if you missed our opening, come and check out our in-house bakery and peruse the isles of over 5000 lines, many on offer to celebrate our opening.
